Here’s your Daily Deal:

1. If You Don’t Want People To Drink and Drive, Just Overcharge Them

Even though Brazil has zero tolerance policy on drunk driving, 35,000 people still died last year from drunk driving accidents. Since it seems that Brazilians aren’t concerned with threats of fines and jail time, Ogilvy Brazil decided to show bar patrons just how much their tab would cost if they decided to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. By adding up things like an ambulance ($3,050), X-Ray ($820), and wheelchair ($1,350) to tabs, Bar Aurora in Brazil not only showed their patrons just how costly drunk driving could be, but how deadly. Check out this video called the $73,000 Bar Tab. Just watching the shocked look on people’s faces when they get their mortgage-payment-bill is priceless.

2. Straight From the Captain’s Mouth

If you’ve been wondering how Captains of Industry creates such cool, interesting and informative renewable energy videos, you’re in luck. Ted Page, a Principal and Creative Director here at Captains, has decided to share our special sauce with the rest of the world, well Renewable Energy World anyway. Check out Ted’s article about why video testimonials are perfect for renewable energy companies and tips on how you can make your renewable energy videos more effective.

3. Don’t Make Bob Leave His Bunny Home

If lung cancer, emphysema, heart attacks, stroke, and oh yeah that whole DEATH thing hasn’t deterred smokers from sucking down cigarettes, maybe robbing Bob the Bunny/Man of his woodland home will.

4. And the Nominees Are…

Elena Kagan, Diane Wood, and Merrick Garland.

According to Jonathan Hiskes from Grist, President Obama is currently considering one of these candidates to replace Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. Whoever gets the position will have a “direct bearing on climate policy” in the coming years. So please President Obama, choose wisely.

To learn more about the contenders and to find out who’s a supposed shoe-in for the job; check out Hiskes’ article at Grist.

5. With 3D TV, You Can See Boobs More Clearly

Well, if you didn’t have a reason to buy a Samsung 3D TV, you do now. By analyzing the artwork created by artistic geniuses like Leonardo DaVinci and Edouard Manet with 3D capability, Samsung was able to uncover the truth about everything from the Vitruvian man’s sexual preference, to what Whistler’s mother was scowling about. And most importantly,  the actual cup size of Manet’s Barmaid. Check out Samsung’s video so you can be in the know, too.

Until tomorrow,

Captain Lindsey
