Hey Captains’ readers,

Here’s your Friday Deal:

1. Moms need to wine

There’s just something soothing about swilling ‘98 Bordeaux. Or even a Two Buck Chuck. Whatever’s handy. According to about 266,926 moms, that first sip can really take the edge off a tough day of carting your small humans to soccer/dance/basketball practice, wiping up various bodily functions, and simply trying to keep your offspring alive and tear-free. In fact, there’s an entire fan page and website dedicated to Moms and their desire uncork after a long day, “Moms Who Need Wine.” The group was created by Marile Borden, a Boston-based mom who uncovered that 74% of moms on Facebook login to the social networking site more than three times a day and can spend hours of their time friending and poking away. With that in mind, Borden decided to create a place were mothers could connect and trade war stories. And best of all, talk about booze. Borden said in an AdRants interview, “It’s not really about the alcohol at all. It’s simply about the validation that motherhood is a tough job, we’re not all perfect, and at the end of the day we need a break.” The biggest reason why “Moms Who Need Wine” is a big deal? MWNW’s fan base has surpassed traditional publishers on Facebook, including Parenting.com (27,000), Real Simple (41,000) and O Magazine (21,000).

When you eclipse Oprah, you know you’ve made it. Go on and have yourself a nice box of wine, Borden. You deserve it.

2. That’s what she said

You know those AXE commercials that have sex-crazed women in string bikinis falling all over themselves to hunt down the one guy on a desert island who’s bathed his bod in Axe body wash? Well, that commercial is no joke. According to a recent study conducted by AXE and the Sports and Leisure Research Group, 81% of college ladies said they’d be more willing to shower at a guy’s apartment if he had AXE Shower Gel in his shower as opposed to bar soap. And guys, those who used AXE Shower Gel AND AXE Detailer Shower Tool were seven times more likely to hook up.

Bow-chica-bow-wow.

Until Monday,

Captain Lindsey
