Graphic Design Intern
Location: Boston, MA
Job Description:
Captains of Industry® is an advertising and branding agency specializing in renewable energy and clean tech clients, located in a cool ‘brick and beam’ office in the heart of Faneuil Hall. We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented, energetic go-getter to join our firm as a graphic design intern in our art/production studio during fall 2012.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Working with lead designer to assist in production for both print and online projects
- Assisting with the design of projects, with a chance to spread your wings and do something different
- Mechanical preparation for print and electronic materials
- Updating existing files for web and print projects
- Researching images online
- Image editing and file prep
Job Requirements: The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills and education.
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an undergraduate program, with Graphic Design or Art Direction major
- Strong skills in Adobe products, e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash, ActionScripting, HTML & CSS is a plus
- Excellent design portfolio and advanced understanding of typography
- Attentive to detail, ability to take direction and work closely with other team members
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment requires approximately 15-40 hrs per week on-site. Start and end dates are flexible; we would like for someone to start with us in late Aug./early Sept. and stay through Dec. 2012.
Compensation: Weekly Stipend.
