TED PAGE PRINCIPAL, CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER

Ted has more than 25 years of experience creating strategy-driven work that clients are proud of. His advertising career began in high school with a newspaper ad to promote his summer job cleaning houses – “We work like dwarves in a gold mine.” Ted got his first big break as a copywriter with McCann-Erickson in New York. In the late 90s, Ted co-founded Captains of Industry with a leading Boston-area filmmaker, Fred Surr, and went on to pioneer using video storytelling to draw customers to client websites. Ted has created memorable work for a wide range of clients, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Live Vault, Iron Mountain, Arbor Networks, and First Wind. Today, Page leads the creative development at COI, ensuring that clients receive outstanding work that delivers measurable results. His articles on emerging marketing trends and technologies have appeared in numerous online publications.

FRED SURR PRINCIPAL, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Fred has been a filmmaker since 14.  He began his career developing and producing children’s television, an exercise remarkably similar to advertising and marketing.  After creating one of the first direct-to-video successes (Spinnaker Video Series), he co-created and produced The Adventures of Commander Crumbcake (Showtime Networks), followed by an episode of Reading Rainbow (PBS).  Returning to his marketing roots, Fred founded a video production company, creating innovative work for clients like John Hancock, Sheraton, BMW, and Staples.  His web films for clients like Iron Mountain, Dunkin’ Donuts, and First Wind have been seen by millions.  More important, they helped launch successful products and even entire companies.  Today, Fred oversees all motion picture production at COI, helping to ensure that clients receive compelling content with measurable results.  Fred won a Telly award for directing “The Institute for Backup Trauma,” starring John Cleese. Fred also has an unwavering dedication to the pursuit of a single digit handicap.
